Gay rights in the US, state by state
Gay rights laws in America have evolved to allow — but in some cases ban — rights for gay, lesbian and transgender people on a range of issues, including marriage, hospital visitation, adoption, housing, employment and school bullying. The handling of gay rights issues vary by state and follow trends by region.
Wow, as much as I want to move out of my state, Oregon makes me pretty proud looking at this graph! And though I love my friends in Mississippi a ton, it seems like THE WORST state for human rights.
This graph is kinda shocking! I mean, maybe I just thought it was normal, but I thought everywhere protected everyone’s rights to not be discriminated when hired, or protected from harassment. I can’t believe how wrong I was! WHAT YEAR IS IT??? Is it 2012 or 1912?
