Well here’s the thing that I think they can fall back on: We don’t know that “new episodes” are “now”.  I mean this could all be taking place at “whenever” and I mean, that whole 6 months that just poof-gone-ed when Jane was in Vegas?  Is NOW, NOW?  If so, then, was before then always 6 months behind?  I mean, there’s no real time difference between episodes.  Between Finale and Premiere, sometimes it’s been days for them.  While between certain eps it could be weeks.

Also, I’m not gonna be too hard on them about the Van Pelt issue, because hey, the actress is preggers, and it’s hard to hide it.  I understand.  We don’t want the whole first season of X-Files thing again, where they had Scully wear long, huge trenchcoats all the time to hide the tummy.
